gar_lei
Hello everyone, I've been using the F700BT for a few months now, so far everyone keep telling me that they can't hear me loud and clear... Is there any fix for this in the settings or cna I get a better mic? Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Thanks!!!
paQ
I posted on this issue a couple of times. I had the same complaints. I took an old Nokia HFM-8 mic and soldered a 2.5mm jack to it (stereo jack also works, just use the two last pins) and this improved the quality AND volume a lot. The mics that come with the avic simply blow! (fyi, the mic needs to be unpowered / passive)

bobD
Here are some suggestions for Motorola GSM, GPRS (not CDMA) phones: 1. Go to this URL and read about Sound Gain Table File: http://wiki.howardforums.com/index.php/Gain_Table_File 2. Download P2KTools (do some google to find it) 3. Read instructions from the above URL (howard forums) and change bluetooth device microphone and speaker gains using P2KTools (to your cell phone your AVIC is the bluetooth device) I have been able to improve my Avic BT700 microphone gain as well as bluettoth speaker gain. DO NOT CHANGE your phone mic gain or phone speaker gain - could be easily damaged if you increase it to much. BobD
gar_lei
I have an iPhone... It seems to be pretty hard to find an Original mic nowadays... I went on eBay and it's all Generic mics from China...
Camelot One
I'm wondering if one of the actual Parrot mics might work. I haven't been able to find info on the plugs, but surely the quality is better than this $2 POS that came with the Pioneer. (which BTW, they charge over $40 to replace!) cranbers
The europeon model of this unit posted a firmware update addressing the mic pickup sensitivity issue. The us model didn't get it though, naturally. I have an iphone 3g, and I hear a lot of complaints how people can't hear me and I sound very faint, far away. This wasn't the case prior to 2.0 update, so its definatley software, not hardware mic. Also, just to prove its not the mic, voice recognition works fine. Firmware update history file Model : AVIC-F700BT AVIC-F900BT ver. 2.001000 - Increased the Microphone sensitivity for Bluetooth Ver. 1.900000 - Substantial reduction in System Startup Time - Improved Touch Panel Response - Increased maximum display brightness - Support for Phonebook Tags (Home - Work - Office-)in the Contacts menu Ver. 1.002000 - Possible reboot when performing UK address search.
