Hard drive use with avic n-5

Recommended Posts

I was told by some that a hard drive could be connected to the n-5. I know you can connect an ipod and play videos that way, but I was curious as to weather or not a hard drive would work. On my av menu there is a button that says usb connection, but I don't know if I would be able to access and control the hard drive through it. Any info would e appreciated, Thanks!

Yes i have a 80 GB hard drive on mine with the USB adaptor, all 8,000 MP3's on it, works just fine, no more CD's or need for a CD changer, i had it in for over a year now and still works fine. You might need a power plug for the hard drive as the usb adaptor may not be powerful enough to turn on the hard drive by its self like a computer can, a 5 volt plug worked for me, (its extually a psp car plug but it works fine with my hard drive)
