UltimateBliss
does anyone know if the 4th gen ipod classic doesn't connect to the f90bt? from the chart i see that the classic does but needs firmware 1.1.1 or newer, which i have 3.1.1. I figured that mine would work. can anyone help?
cmh928
A 4th Gen is not an Ipod Classic. The avic will work with Video Ipods and newer. Video Ipods are 5th Gen. The Ipod Classic is newer yet and would be a 6th Gen. Get a cheap Nano if you don't want to shell out the money for a 5th gen or later full size Ipod.
emu_destroyer
highly doubt the 4th gen will work dont think the 4th gen has the right software to work with 3rd party hardware
toomtoomvroom
Hey there, yeah the older ipods weren't designed to offer the convenience of compatibilities with other third-party connection. It kinda sucks, but you can always get a cheap shuffle or nano.
MikeTheApeman
My 4th Gen has been relegated to being used in my old car only, until I get around to listing all the crap I've got to go on eBay. As others have reported, it does not work, and there's no way that I have seen to make it work. I did think about putting it into disk mode and trying to see if the AVIC would recognize it as a hard drive, but kinda defeats the purpose that way since you lose the iPod interface functionality....I think...hell, I haven't finished the 1st cup of coffee yet so I'm rambling.
