I found the best not to zip and unzip the file. Instead, let Windows does the zipping. This is done inside exploer.

 

Copy file that needs to mod from the zip file to a new folder.

Mod the file in the new folder.

When done, copy the file back to the zip file.

Answer OK to replace.
