osephj20 Posted July 17, 2009 Report Share Posted July 17, 2009 please help guys. i tried putting my buddies (neon green) n5 east map disc in my n4, everything works fine. i tried putting my (red) n4 east map in and the monitor reads" not the appropriate disc. please insert appropriate disc." now i cant use my navi.......... i tried resetting the unit. i tried resotring factory settings, no luck. any ideas guys?!?!?!!?!? azhiroller Posted July 31, 2009 Report Share Posted July 31, 2009 When you inserted the N5 disc into your N4, it upgrade your firmware to a newer version. Your old N4 disc is no longer compatiable. Burn a copy of your buddy's N5 disc into a DVD+R Dl. TDK brand works great for me. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Biginmont Posted November 14, 2009 Report Share Posted November 14, 2009 here is how to down grade the your unit insert your buddys disc in to your unit then go to system tab find the menu that lets you change the language change the language to either french or spanish let let the dvd upgrade the unit after its done do it all over this time change the language back to english hit the eject button and insert your old 70's disc let it up grade / downgrade to english or do what I did give Pioneer 120 bucks and upgrade to the 90's disk Quote Link to post Share on other sites
