berrymedic20
Hi all, Did a bit of searching around but didn't come across anything. I don't have an AVIC model, but a close relative in the AVH-P4000DVD. The unit sounds terrific in all aspects except the iPod. I get good quality sound output from the iPod unit, except an obnoxious hiss that's entirely audible in any quiet songs, or during intervals between songs or even during breaks within a song. I suppose some people might not notice it, but it drives me crazy. If I turn the iPod charge function off from the head unit, the hiss disappears, and there's no hiss using XM or terrestrial radio, so I know it's something specific to the iPod, and something specific to power, probably some sort of power leak or bad ground? I really don't know. I am, by the way, using the Pioneer iPod cable. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if there are any known fixes. I haven't played around with the USB input much, but if I can't fix this iPod thing, I'm going to look into putting a USB thumb drive in the car instead to see if that doesn't produce hiss. However, I'm sure that's not as good an interface as with the iPod.
