Considering puting a siren or 2 inside the car. Feedback..

Recommended Posts

HI all,

I am considering putting a siren or 2 inside the car. Probably will likely be hidden. it's going into a BMW and it has motion sensors inside with the factory alarm.

I tested the siren inside my house and I could not even withsatnd for more than 2 secs. The goal is make the inside so loud that its uncomfortable to be inside to try to steal the radio.

FYI - I think the factory siren harness has 4 wires so I'm guessing it has a different wire for the alarm and for the door lock chirp.

What do you guys think?

I had one hidden under the dash right by the firewall in my old car for this same reason.

The idea is to make the alarm sound louder than it really is to the punk to breaks in so he won't linger.

If you want a deterrent so they never get that far, make sure your blinking red light is as visible as possible.

Avoid using those blinking blue, or scrolling LED status lights on your alarm bc that just tells tells people you have something worth stealing.

The most like stock it looks like, the best.

ive done it, on several cars, brock nailed the purpose of it

i installed mini 132db "warlbler" piezos directly over the drivers left ear and passengers right ear inside the door pillar plastic and drilled about 65 beautifully aligned 1/16th holes on it to look like a stock buzzer location

i dont care who it was.. NO WAY he could sit in the car for more than a few seconds.. EVEN IF HE TRIED!! the tone/frequency and sheer blast of the warlblers really nailed your ear drums being that close

and also killed the stock radios, unbolted the exntire face plates and had them clip/velcro or just sit directly in front of the screen or high end unit to make it look stock.. didnt have to be secure.. just sit there till you get back to the car

You guys have never heard of ear plugs I take it?

Not only that, but the info available in this thread along with others and I'm sure a pair of ear plugs + ear muffs would pretty much make this worthless

Probably just going to waste your time and money and end up causing permanent hearing damage to yourself.

lock your car. get insurance. get a cheap alarm that lowers the insurance rate. maybe try to get a company that doesn't ask how much the car audio is worth, straight forward so it doesn't raise your prices, etc.

What REALLY sucks about the f700bt is that the stupid USB cable makes it nearly impossible to pull the unit out when you aren't driving the car....I mean why not....wait, just thought of something!

You could bundle up the USB cable to the back of the unit and run an extension to wherever you want to have the end of the USB cable come out...voila! easily take your unit out at night or whatever.

I always found that car alarms are ignored by many people. I also use the a recorded sound of a women screaming Rape very loud with a faint police siren sound 5 seconds in.. For two reason, a car thief doesn't want to be rapist, so once they hear that, they take off, they don't know what the hell is going on. and people tend to pay attention more if a women is screaming...
