relicario
Hey everyone. I'm in a bit of a dilemma and would like your opinion. A friend of mine let me have an avic n2 unit without knowing whether it worked or not. He might have given it to me because it was fried or something. I tried to turn it on by giving the red wire power, but had no luck. I just recently found out that this unit uses a hideaway unit. My questions are: -Should i be able to turn it on even without the hideaway unit? -If not, is it worth it to buy a hideaway unit and risk the n2 working or not? -Is there any way i can test the unit itself without having to buy the hideaway unit? Thanks
shaguar
In order for the unit to turn on, you need to send +12v to the yellow and red wires, and ground to the black wires. I am unsure of the hideaway unit, though.

relicario
Cool thanks guys. I'll try giving power to the red, and yellow. and ground the black wires. If you unplug the hideaway unit, will the n2 turn on? Or give some signs of life?
relicario
Ok i tried giving the red and yellow power and i grounded the black wires. But it won't turn on. But when i open the bottom section as if trying to put in a cd, the little red light flashes. Anyone know what might be wrong? Or is that all it will do because there is no brain/hideaway unit?
