mattesonb
i have an avic x910bt and MSN direct doesnt work in the least bit. from the msn page on the unit the antenna is completely grayed out and is receiving no signal. from the directions it says i should go to status and when i do so i just get a black box saying "connection to MSN direct" which never changes. i contacted MSN and they said i have to contact my installer, but i installed it so thats not going to work. it is my understanding that the antenna is the ipod cable coming from the back of the unit or somthing similar? my gps antenna is on the right hand side of the windshield and my cars radio antenna is the rear window. any idea what i may have done wrong? Lancer28
I believe this signal comes from your regular AM / FM antenna. Be sure it is connected. If you have the HD radio you will need to get a antenna splitter to go to both the HD module and the back of the radio. Also if your car has an antenna amp, be sure it is getting power. jbjohansen
Just found the answer in another thread. Push the reset button (the little one next to the CD eject button). Once the system reloads it should work fine.
Newman
I am actually having the same issue with my X910 but mine has been installed for 2 months with no problems unit this week. I dont really care about MSN Direct anymore since its not very useful but I'll try the reset.
Junkhead
Welll if it needs the am or fm antenna then that's my problem. I just installed my 910 but have no fm antenna adapter. I thought msn would go through gps system
