talkin73
With the tiny knob on the X910BT, it's lack of resistance moving left/right/up/down, I find that almost everytime I try to mute the volume (long push and hold of the knob) I invariably change stations/songs (moving the knob) or end up with the voice prompt (short push of the knob). Criticisms about my manual dexterity aside, are there any other remedies for this issue (ie; other ways to mute the volume) or suggestions that people might offer? Right now its a serious PITA to do and was just a simple press of a mute button even on my base stock Nissan Altima stereo. I kinda miss having more buttons on an aftermarket HU
Newman
there are two solutions for you.... 1) instead of pressing the button with your finger tip, try using your thumb and pointer finger and sort of grab the knob on both sides and press in. this is what i have to do to avoid the problems you mentioned. 2) a member of this forum actually makes bigger knobs that fit over top of the factory knob and give you better usabiliy. check out this thread: viewtopic.php?f=50&t=26014
talkin73
@Newman, thanks for the suggestion. That's kinda what I have started doing. I did purchase the larger knob and that seems to help as well. I was also wondering (but can't figure out...) if there is an alternate input switch so that I could use a blank switch position on my dash to control the mute on/off. I need to ask around on that...
