JDL51
Is it possible to change the compass orientation so that it is always pointing in the direction of travel? My previous Pioneer unit would rotate to accommodate this, but this new one (AVIC F 700BT) doesn't seem to. It only accommodates the direction of travel in 3D mode and I prefer 2D. All help/suggestions/advice is appreciated!
touche6784
Depends on what version firmware you have. 2.0 does not have the a mode to allow for direction of travel as always up. 3.XX has three map modes one of them being direction of travel up.
JDL51
So, if I have v2, I'm essentially screwed, correct?
SteveInNC
So, if I have v2, I'm essentially screwed, correct? Kind of... some people workaround this limitation by running in 3D mode, but adjusting the map tilt so that the map is close to vertical. There is a hard limit on the angle, but that can be tweaked in the software by some of the mods described in this forum. As I recall, without a software mod, the map will reset its tilt when you restart the unit, so this is a less than ideal solution for an unmodified unit. It may be a reasonable workaround for a long trip where you would adjust the tilt at the beginning then leave it for the rest of the trip.
