Mr. Underhill
I have the AVIC-f700bt and the CD-IU230V cable for my iPod. I am not sure if it is Pioneer one (don't see any name on it). I got it where I got my stuff installed. everything worked fine for like 2 months. then, i updated my ipod and itunes (b/c my harddrive died and I never resynched it). then, I play a music video i boght from itunes and i hear the music but i do not see any video. then i tried it for all other movies... and the same thing. i get sound no video. is this b/c it is not a pioneer cable. do i have to get/ install another cable or is there a pin adapter or something? VBLUE42
Which iPod do you have? And you might want to make sure you have the Pioneer cable.

I don't have it handy to look. But it is the one that came out after the iPod Video. I think they started calling it the iPod Classic, I think. I know it is 80GB. And, I am also fairly certain it is not a Pioneer Cable now. What shoudl I do. Won't a Pioneer Cable produce the same results? Does apple make a plug that does same thing? VBLUE42
Get the Pioneer cable or the Apple Composite AV cable. Those work for sure.
Mr. Underhill
Get the Pioneer cable or the Apple Composite AV cable. Those work for sure. Isn't the composite cable the one with red blue and ren and then two things for audio? I'm liking the idea of going with apple, but just want to make sure it is going to work in a simialr fashion to the pioneer cable.
VBLUE42
I think your thinking of the Apple Component AV cable. Thats the wrong one. The Apple Composite AV cable has RCA left and right audio and one RCA video connection as well as a USB connection. This is just as the Pioneer cable has.

What kind of cable do I need to access the female connection on the actual headunit? I have the AVIC 700bt. I just learned it's not straight aux... is this another cable where I have a chocie of getting pioneer vs apple? the reason i ask is...if i am going to go to apple store...should just get both to save a trip. VBLUE42
The Apple Composite AV or the Pioneer CD-IU230V.
VBLUE42
Also a restore and re-sync of content on the iPod may clear up the problem.
Mr. Underhill
Thanks. Got the apple cable. And actually it's design works better for me than the pioneer-esq one anway (ie where the USB cable splits). Danke!!!
VBLUE42
Did it solve your problem?
Mr. Underhill
Did it solve your problem? yes. however... are you sure that cable you mentioned above is the one that connects to that auxillary looking housing that is there. If so, does apple make one as well. and just so i didnt confuse things...the cable that i just bought was the one that connects into the rear of the unit (the apple one). works fabulous. Mr. Underhill
the input on the bottom left (when looking at it) corner. the iu230v connects into the back of the machine (just like the apple cord I just purchase does). Looking for the cable that goes into the bottom left.... i tried a aux cable i had laying around and it does not work. thought maybe the avic 700bt required a special cable or something.
