truk881
Hi all, I've spent the last 3 days researching headunits for my car. I'm blessed with a 2DIN slot and think I have narrowed my decision down to a few models: AVIC-U310BT ($300), AVH-P3200BT($450) AVIC-X910BT ($550). I'm looking for any input as the reviews and demo videos I keep seeing rarely address my specific concerns and these units aren't available to play with in the local stores. My primary concern is a fast, clean easy to use interface for my iphone including playing music and taking phone calls. I won't be upgrading my car speakers or adding an amp and don't consider myself an audiophile. I have a Garmin Nuvi that I love and don't need the GPS. I won't be watching videos in the car. The AVH is on the list b/c of the bigger screen, no GPS and (possibly) faster load time than the X710BT. My most important criteria is fast easy searching of a 28 Gig music library. I looked at a lot of single DIN units and anything that displays less than 3 fields is useless (IMHO) for finding tracks to play. All of these units look good for fast loading of libraries and fast finding of tracks. The second most important criteria is placing and receiving calls hands free. Third is the pass thru control of the iphone incase my passenger needs an app Does anyone know if I can play an internet radio app thru the unit? (Pandora, Last.FM, Slacker?) I would appreciate any input. I was all set to pull the trigger on the U310BT until I saw the comments on this board. It seems like the software update fixed most of the issues but i wanted to see if anyone could please chime in with their experience. This is my first aftermarket head unit. Thanks all.
