TopJimmy
I'm looking at buying this for my Xterra. I mainly need basic GPS and Aux/Ipod/thumbdrive input, and the price is right on this model. Regarding THUMBDRIVE/USB input, I listen to alot of podcasts. My little Nano will remember where I stopped playback of an MP3 and will RESUME at that spot on next play. Will the 310 resume playback from a thumbdrive? How is the thumbdrive playback in general? Navigation of menus, ID3 tag display, etc? Thanks.
droid13
This is mainly from memory, so don't hold me to it... Regarding using a plain USB memory drive, I believe playback starts at point of shutdown. It seems to load the file folder structure reasonably fast, but I have not tried it with more than a few hundred MB so far. The unit will show the folder structure on 3 or 4 lines (top half of the screen) and you navigate folder to folder using up/down toggle on the knob. Move into/out of a folder using left/right toggle on the knob. Play song by pressing center of knob (or right toggle which is a bit easier). Very basic but functional. I think it also allows you to pick which tags are displayed. I can't remember if this is a master setup setting or something you can change while playing...
Phat_J
I find it will resume my mp3 files, but it seems to back track 30 seconds to one minute. Not a big deal really
