moonstruck
Looking for some help with the N2 bypass. Read quite a bit and tried it for myself, thought I would share and ask you all what you thought. At first I tried the solder method, but it was just too difficult to fit the solder in there and get it just right. So I looked to the forums for an easier method. After reading the forums I thought I would give it a second shot. I easily found the sticker, got a circuit pen, and drew a line between the jumpers. Filled it up pretty well no doubt their is metal connecting the two points. Start up the unit, find the reset button, everything works - except the bypass. Start the car, drive a bit there is nothing different. No using navi while driving. So I bring the unit back in. Clean it up with a thumbtack very gently. Use a wet Q-tip to get some metal shrud out. Scrape around the jumpers as best I could. Put the unit back in the car, still works (this is with no circuit anymore) Bring the unit back in once more. Once again apply a liberal amount of circuit metal. Let the unit sit about ten minutes. Use a blow dryer for about 20 seconds. Install the unit back in my car, everything works - except the bypass. Do you have any idea why the bypass does not work on my unit, and if there is anything I can do to get it to work? The avic means nothing to me if I can't use it while driving. Thanks. EDIT: Yes, the parking break is grounded.
cntrylvr79
If the parking brake lead is securely grounded and the bypass isn't working then the contacts under the sticker aren't connected completely.
moonstruck
For any future 411'er who finds myself in this position, after going inside and pouting about it for a good six hours - I started my car again and WALA! it works. I guess it just had to dry... or set... or something for a long time. Let it dry for more than 30 minutes I guess. Works awesome. Thanks for all your help.
