jwq
I'm amazed this conversation is going on considering it's all about stealing from Pioneer. It's not as if it's usefull to anybody, as it's not cracked and you still need the password
matttyler
You have to learn to tread water before you can swim across the English Channel.

moiz87
Is there even anyone on this forum capable of cracking this? Seems like a tough task...
VBLUE42
Probably not. Just like I told everyone a month ago.

CaptainInsaneO
Anyone get this to work? No. If/when that happens, you will definitely know.
Digi_D
Hey guys, first post but I've been watching this like a hawk. If I understand correctly, Pioneer generates a unique password based on the serial number of the headunit you provide? Would it be possible to get a few SN/PW combos - if so I/others could start attempting to crack the hash? That way, with the torrent in hand, you could generate your own pw. rgarjr
Not only do u require the serial number of the radio, u also need to input a unique code that comes with the SD cards. Getting a hold of this number is a bit hard.
andrew_
Just contributing some information that I stumbled on while poking around: The header of the NDATA.001 file is "MSWIN4.1". Upone further investigation, this appears to be a boot record of sorts. http://thestarman.pcministry.com/asm/mbr/MSWIN41.htm According to Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EXE, we're dealing with 16 bit DOS executables. Not that this will help in the cracking process, but I stumbled on it anyway: The .rff and .image files are created with an application called "NaviStudio" http://cloudmade.com/products/navi-studio. May help to mod in the future (?). CARDINFO.cif contains what appears to be either random (unlikely) or some sort of alpha numeric hash or encryption of data. It reads #pioneer[hash] and that's it. If we can get the code for the sdcard this was taken from, that might provide some clue. It might be a good route to contact one of the forums that specialize in cracking these types of hashes and security setups. But like was previously mentioned, we'll likely need many samples of the hash with original data in order to get that cracked.
VBLUE42
So before these files became available there were about three people on this forum, all noobs if I remember correctly, that swore they could crack this once the files were available. So where are these people now? now we have a new line of people that are beginning to ask the same question over again. "Are these files cracked"? So after all it really doesn't look like this is going to happen now is it.

I actually installed a copy of NaviStudio a month or two ago but it was all in Japanese, and you could only create content for the Japan version of the Z series. I don't know if there is a version in English that we could use; if there is I've never seen it.
