Problem I found: HU doesn't turn ipod off.

Recommended Posts

So I was in the process of writing a long essay here about my ipod isn't being detected my my Z120bt because it is losing it's charge and because it is staying powered on after I powered and left my car sitting for many hours.

At the same time, I was on hold with Pioneer to see if they knew anything about this because I was not sure that they did. They finally picked up the phone and answered my question. I will test their idea out and see how it goes.

They say that the ipod's sleep setting needed to be enabled. This totally makes since, though I didn't even know my ipod had that Sleep option (other than pressing the play/pause button) until he told me this. It's buried deep in the Settings/Main Menu list.

So I guess I'm posting this just in case there are other people who have problems with their ipod not being detected sometimes. Hope it helps.

Thanks

Murphy

you can also hit the pause button right before you shut the car off, this will pause you ipod and the ipod will shut down with in minutes if there is no activity (the ipod will play until it runs out of songs otherwise)

Out of curiosity, What IPod do you have?

I've never messed with sleep on mine, and it always stops playing when I shut off my truck... Even with my old Z2/3....

Of course it doesn't power it off or anything.... And it sounds like your IPod may have a bad battery...

It may be related to what gen/model IPod you have...
