Hacking the IP Bus interface

Recommended Posts

I've seen hacks made to IP Bus interface that allow adding an extra AUX input. I've also seen this adapter that lets a user interface with a native acura/honda headunit from a PC (http://forums.fluxmedia.net/input-devic ... apter.html)

So I've been trying to look up an IPBus pinout but so far I've only found pages that refer primarily to this one:

http://stereophonik.com/gutterslide/IP-BUS_Hack/

So here's my idea:

Use Pioneer headunit for its screen and amplification and hook up a computer to it. To figure out if this is at all possible, I need to figure out what the rest of the pins mean:

Pin 8: AsenB

Pin 6: RB

Pin 5: Bus-

Pin 4: NC

Pin 3: LG

Pin 2: BUSG

Pin 1: Bus+

For this to work, I need to send the image from the computer to Avic's screen. I would bet good money that IP Bus deals with, at most, composite video, not VGA. Quality would not be great, but could be enough since the interface only uses large buttons.

I also need to capture touch screen events and (not neccesary, but certainly a big plus) unit button events.

Can anyone provide any additional info about the pinout of the IP Bus?

P.S. I have an AVIC F90BT
