SeattleJoe
Hello all, First time posting but I've been doing some reading here for some time. Ive got a avic-n2 with a n3 brain. i bought it used and it looks like the last owner had rebuilt the power harness plug. some of the wires in the plug have been replaced using all black wires. but they do at least have the correct pins on the end of them. the plug fits just fine into its socket, its just that i don't know what wire is what. Would it be possible to get the pin/wire orientation from anybody? id really appreciate it. Thanks for reading, and thanks for the forum.
Ruslan Nyers
I had similar problems. PIN 1 (WHITE/BLACK)(WHITE)(GRAY/BLACK)(GRAY)(LT GREEN P-BRAKEWIRE)(RED)(ORANGE/WHITE)(YELL) PIN 9 (GREEN/BLACK)(GREEN)(PURPLE/BLACK)(PURPLE)(BLACK)(BLUE)(YELLOW/BLACK)(BLACK *THICK*) The last wire, pin 16, was a thick black wire that went into a box. The yellow wire, pin 8, went into the box also. Pin 13 is a thin black wire. I wasn't sure about it so I grounded it along with pin 16. Also take a look at the avic n2 manual. SeattleJoe
Thank you very much. I was beginning to wonder if id get any answer. I was wondering what the deal with #16 and #8 was. when i was looking at the manual. and now I'm really curious about the #13. two black wires in the same harness? does the #16 wire look the same after it comes out of the box? (i don't have the box) anyway, thanks for your time. I had similar problems. Ruslan Nyers
The yellow and thick black wire goes into a "box" Both wires come out with the yellow wire going into a fuse. I twisted the outgoing black wire (pin 16) into the the skinny black wire (pin 13)(and parking brake wire)and secured the ends with a ring terminal. I bought an inline fuse from radio shack for the yellow wire. RADIO SHACK Look at the illustration. I hooked everything up to an external power supply and it worked fine, however the unit needs to be serviced as it doesn't load cd's. *note...I didn't illustrate grounding the p-brake wire. SeattleJoe
I had the same problem with a diffrent HU a couple years back. and after fiddling around with it i got it to eject a disk that had been somehow loaded ontop of another disk and they were jambed in there. after clearing the disks it worked fine.
