I've gotten confirmation from Pioneer regarding owners of the X920BT who would like to upgrade to the 2011 software but were afraid to lose VR like the X930BT.

The X920BT will still have VR even after upgrading to the 2011 X930 software.

Well this seems to be great news but puts me and probably other potential users in a difficult spot

I have been looking at both the AVIC-X920BT and soon to be released AVIC-X930BT. Would it be better to buy the X920BT now and upgrade the software when available or wait for the release of the X930BT? So an upgraded X920BT would have all the updated features + voice recognition while the X930BT would only have a volume knob/detachable face as a plus? Should be a no-brainer for a upgraded X920BT unless I am missing something, right?

Oh ok. So with this coming update people will be able to turn their X920's into an X930? Any thoughts if its going to be a free upgrade or will it cost us?

You would bet wrong. We have already been through this with last years models so we know what it will be.

Whats that suppose to mean? I don't follow. I wouldn't expect to have to physically remove the x920 and replace it with a x930.
