And that's why "someone might ask" if i was and want to show i wasn't

vblue is right. these are two different things.

so lets say they pull you over.

and if they caught you because they saw you use it, its pretty a done deal. you got the ticket. they would not pull you over if they didnt see you do it in the first place. kind of like they asking you how fast you were speeding? if they pulled you over for speeding your done... its basically a rhetorical question at that point.

now if they pulled you over for something else and ask you if a video is playing while you drove, then you basically say no you were not watching anything. only you can screw yourself by admission during the traffic stop by the officier. plus they can NOT physically go into your car and turn it on. you also do not need to show if it does or does not do it as they never saw it happen before the traffic stop.

Hi guys,

I have an avic f40bt which looks pretty much the same z130/z140. I installed mine awhile back ago and just grounded the hand brake. Everything seems to work, as far as i can tell. I am able to ise the GPS and have video playing.

Only recently i joined this site and i've noticed you guys re-pin this wire and ground it. Why is that?

I have never used an f series (EU) version of the z (US/CAN) series, however I think US versions may behave differently than EU. For example, pionara has a thread (http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35315-soft-parking-brake-mod-aka-safe-mode-bypass-menu/ ) on his progress in hacking the US/CAN version to enable "Safe Mode" setting that is present on the EU units.

Probably has something to do with liability laws. Consider yourself lucky. However it is an easy mod.
