USB Thumb Drive vs Micro SD

Recommended Posts

Folks,

New to the board here and just recently purchased an AVIC X920BT, installed in a Jeep Wrangler with all of the trimmings. Replaced all six speakers and added a 10" sub as well.

Anyway, when doing Firmware upgrades can I use a Thumb Drive instead of using a Micro SD card? I have a couple thumb drives and I also have a USB interface, but was not sure if I would have to purchase a Micro SD.

Thanks..Dirtdiver

Updates can only be done via the MicroSD card.

Thanks, your reply is appreciated; What is the maximum size Micro SD the X920BT will read?

Good question; I use a 2gb myself. I only have the thing for updates.

Technically I think you can store media on it and play it that way but it's not terrible useful. The only decent media interface is the one built for the iDevices.
