mpopis
I got my AVIC-x930BT a few weeks ago and my GPS location is at times a block away from my actual location. I didn't notice this in the first week or two, but now it is starting to get very annoying, I tried to manually change location but it doesn't help. any ideas?
mpopis
Anyone know how to do a reset on this x930bt?
Dave O
Mine does the same, and others have reported this as well. For me, it happens when I first start the car. Once I take a turn here or there is is calibrated correctly. If I just drive in a straight line, it won't calibrate. I have to take a turn or two.
mpopis
It is so annoying when I'm driving on a highway and it shows me on a side road that is parallel with the highway. even if I change current location myself it still reverts back to the wrong location. johnwill
Where and how is your antenna installed?
Harvey_Gordon
You might also try to turn off the "Keep Position On Road" setting. I found this to grab the road it thought I was on. Since I've turned it off, I also don't have map 'spins' at sudden stops (from the auto gyro still going). Also, when in a parking lot, with the setting 'On', it tries to put me on the nearest road. Setting 'Off', leaves me in the parking lot. Just my thoughts. Hope there's some help there. Â hg
mpopis
The Antenna is on the dash of the passenger side. I will turn off "Keep Position On Road" and see if that helps. Thanks for the suggestions. If this doesn't work maybe there is something wrong with the antenna itself?
johnwill
Is that thin metal plate under the antenna? Â Good pic.
mpopis
No the audio shop that installed it did not use it.
VBLUE42
The antenna has to be fixed to something metal. Take it back and have them fix it.
mpopis
I just moved my antenna from the side of the dash to the middle and placed a metal piece (not the original metal piece) under it. I hope this helps get a better signal.
mpopis
Moving the antenna and putting it on a metal plate did not help.

VBLUE42
Either the unit or the antenna is defective or you do not have a clear view of the sky.
