vheidenr
Not sure if you plan on leveraging the factory amp, or if you are installing all new components with your head unit. There is an item available that will allow you to use the factory components. The problem lies with the fact that Porsche uses an optical wiring system. You either need to bypass that system completely, or purchase a bridge to hook into it. What year is your 911? I just put the z120bt in my 2007 Cayman S...

loy
I'd bypass the amp. I did not see any bridge available for your car.

Contact this guy (Euromotorspeed), His name is Loi and he sells on ebay . http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-05-PORSCHE-996-CARRERA-DOUBLE-DIN-INSTALLATION-KIT-/321174556540?pt=US_Car_Audio_Video_Dashboard_Installation_Kits&hash=item4ac77ecf7c He is well regarded on all the Porsche web sites (RennList, 986forun, planet-9,....) He'll help you bypass the optical adapter too. He has great phone support. Suncoast Porsche also resells his products, but you'll get the best service support going directly to him. I'd recommend contacting him directly before buying anything so he can tell you what you'll need. Call him (Loi) at 877-408-3876. I think this is his cell - he's quickly available for help. http://www.suncoastparts.com/product/9X6DDIN.html?Category_Code=996C2Audio http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/996-forum/709257-double-din-bezel-question.html As an example of his products and support, here's a thread on Planet-9 (987 though - not a 911), but you'll get an idea of his support and the high regard he has with this community. BTW, he is a Porsche owner (987). http://www.planet-9.com/987-cayman-boxster-electronics/56234-latest-head-unit-replacement-avic-120bt.html
