Hi, I am new to my F90BT unit and I just did the 2.008 firmware update. I was wondering if I needed to download the EZrider hack in order to use the 2011 MAP updates???? or just proceed without it?? Also I was on the phone with Pioneer and wasn't able to get an answer if a new Firmware update was available after the 2.008 version, and have heard of people updating to the X. If anyone has some input it would be greatly appreciated. I am somewhat lost on this topic.

I'm pretty new to it as well. From reading around the forums in the last few days, you do need the ezrider hack. Update beyond 2.008 is possible officially but you need to pay for them. 2.008 is the last free official update.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I added the new maps to my system (FX3.1 with iill.die.trying maps and this cracked ezrider). It was really easy. Is there any way to compress the Q1 2011 maps any more to fit everything onto the 1.8g's of available space on the unit? and so the unit can still read the files?


I had to delete a lot of states and poi's to make it all fit.

This has nothing to do with the current X, Z or F series and will not work.

Instead of putting all the new states and POI's on to my F90BT, I just switched out my state (Illinois) and PIO's to the updated 2011.

Is everyone else able to fit all the new 2011 maps and POI's on their units?

The time you spend reading the Hack.Mod posts and others will be worth your time and you'll get better support (as we all have learned) after doing so. Get familiar with testmode and how to BACKUP and then copy the new map files to your unit. It requires a time investment, like we made, but you can reap rewards beyond having new maps.

There is a learning curve but many have seen the value.

Thanks to the OP for the uploads. I had a few issues with the files (#1 was corrupt and other 2 others showed errors), but I will test what I d/l'ed soon, in one, then the other F500BT. The non-torrent sites are passable but excruciatingly slow.
