X930BT & 2008 GMC Sierra

Recommended Posts

Hey folks,

New here. Picking up an X930BT to install in my 2008 Sierra with Onstar, non-amplified.

Going to put the following in: Sirius Sat CD-SB10 & SCC1, PAC SWI-PS, CD-iU50V & GMRC-LAN-01 (don't care that the onstar won't work). I also plan to do the hack so video and nav are fully available while driving.

Any surprises I should be on the look out for?

I appreciate any input and advise.

Hey Snidor! I'm doing an install on the same truck, 2008 GMC Sierra with Onstar, non-bose stereo, however i do not have steering wheel controls.

Just wondering, what mounting kit are you using for mounting the double din unit and making it look nice in the dash without any gaps or anything? i'm having a hard time coming up with what i need to order? also, what hack are you talking about to bypass the ebrake?

Take yellow/black wire from harness at back of radio and move it up one space(if you are holding it upside down move down one). This will allow you to enter address into NAV when driving or allow passengers to watch a DVD when moving. I used a razor blade to cut a channel to remove the yellow/black wire and remove the wire so I could change the location. The are other methods that you can view on YouTube. Just did this yesterday and it worked great.
