ddragon
Hi Folks... GREAT BOARD! I have a question, I successfully hacked/moded the D1 and installed it in my 2001 Mazda Tribute (Looks great!)... but I didn't hook up the reverse wire or the speed sensor wire. As a result, the GPS works but is not 100% accurate. Has anyone ever hooked the speed sensor wire in this car? Where can I find it and what does it look like? Thanks. tillithz
speed pulse = gray/black cruise servo on pass fender I got nothing on the reverse, which is for the camera trigger. The vss really only affects the navi for about 3 feet, and some of the info in the vehicle dynamics.
jimmy303
Reverse is black with a pink stripe in the driver's kick panel, and VSS is blue with a yellow stripe or gray w/ black in the large harness at the center of the firewall underhood. But, I like tillithz's suggestion of going to the cruise servo, though. Getting to the harness above the engine is a pain and usually a VERY dirty job.
ddragon
Thanks, I'll try the fender mounted one first, otherwise I'll take a look at the other one. I remember looking at the unit. Didn't want to take it a part however. Cheers.
jimmy303
You shouldn't have to disassemble the unit, you can grab the wire in the harness that leads to it.
ddragon
Good point. I'll try that instead.
