I just registered here because I installed a x940 last night and can confirm the videos are correct. On my harness, I just had to move the yellow wire up one notch.

I am going to get 940 installed tomorrow. can you please also clarify if you also had to ground the other wires as mentioned in some videos OR just had to move the yellow wire up one? Thanks!

I got the bypass working for the 940bt the first time... using this...

I went ahead and bought an extra wire, because I didn't want to remove the mute wire and re-use it. I wanted to keep the wire where it was, and just add an additional one. This kit was all hooked up with the proper connector and ready to go. Basically plug and play.

On the other end of the wire... I joined the Parking brake wire (green) + this bypass wire + pioneer ground (black) + harness ground (black) together.

I hate to bring up an old thread but thought it be better than starting a new one on this topic. With the bypass can I grab any extra wire and use it bc I have to use the mute wire for my truck.

Thanks

I believe using the hack posted on this forum, you lose Mute. However, I know I had a pro install done and they used a microbypass and I still have mute. If you search on youtube, there is a video for the other method using a microbypass, which I believe you can do yourself.
