There is a thread buried on second or third page with direct links to euro files. I forget name of thread but has euro in title. But you can not use US unless you do the 4.01 hybrid upgrade and grab euro tomtom maps off of a file sharer and delete the US maps and plug Euro maps in.

Hi tail24

Hope you can help me on this one. Got a Euro system (f900bt) with the reboot problem. Tried your basic fix only with the files from the other topic with the euro files. Partly solved the problem, the system would hang on the splash screen on every startup. But inserting the cnsd300 firmware upgrade sd and then restart would allow me to enter the system, audio and everything working only no maps. Since the system wouldn't allow me to do the cnsd300 upgrade (got the message that this upgrade was already finished) I decided to start from the top of the process with upgrading WinCE and 2.0 firmware as suggested in the euro thread. Then everything went wrong. Choose the "upgrade winCE (format)" option but the system crashed just when it has reached about 100% reading. Now I only get a black screen on startup. No splash, no reboot, can't get the system to acknowledge testmode or firmware upgrades. Every time I access the blue screen in setup mode it restarts after about 10 seconds. Impossible to do the winCE upgrade since it just crashes after 10 seconds. What can I do?

Hey tail, I did exactly everything you described in your first post.

Let me explain my problem first. Everything has been working perfectly until one day I started the truck up and the avic went to the pioneer screen then just turned off after about 15 seconds. Now after doing you fix it just stays on but in the boot loop. I did everything exactly and even after it not working the first time went ahead and deleted the gps(number) files. Any idea what to do next?

EDIT: Weird so I hit menu and it went back to the normal menu but then nothing seems to work after that and gets hung up on the maps part.

So i've folowed the steps to fix the reboot loop but now that the unit loads to the main menu i can't access any of the av settings, or the av section but the phone section still works. This was also done on an australian headunit with the us f700 firmware, ive replaced the igo files with an australian. Any ideas on what i can do to fix it?

Hi Tail,

I've tried everything in the instructions but ran into the same issue as EcoCav and that msg.

So I tried to follow what EcoCav wrote but I wasn't able to unmount all the way and now the system shuts down after running for 3-4 seconds in the windows screen.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Thanks in advance for your time.

This is from a post I just did for another member I feel like I kind of give the short un orgainzed version to lots of people but here is a more organized version. This is not a fix all but it will often fix many reboot problems, some are more complicated which may not allow you in to test mode, or may even reboot after files have been replaced. This should be attempted before the Pinned MBR fix is tried.

go to this thread ; http://avic411.com/i...f-avic-f-files/ Its also pinned to the top here "Torrent Full of Avic F files" download the zip with a torrent file with in it. Use a torrent downloader (Azerus Vuze, Utorrent, Bittorrent, ect) to download the larger torrent to your computer (its 8.4 gb and should take much of the rest of the evening to download). Once these files have been downloaded

1. Format an SD card that is at least 2 gb big.

2. Unzip the file you have downloaded

3. Locate the File Testmode V 2.3. Open folder Copy the folder within entitled "testmode"

4. Paste that file into the root level of your SD card

5. Locate folder "My Flashdisk Back up" Open it then Open the folder 2.0 f700 Copy this folder

6. Paste that file/folder into Root level of your SD card along with "test mode"

7. Eject SD card and head to car

8. Put SD card in avic and turn it on

9. wait for avic to load into test mode (likes like windows 95 its called WindowsCE)

10. Click Start > Programs> Windows Explorer

11. Double Click SD card > Double Click f700 up top click edit>select all then Edit>Copy

12. Click Start > Programs > Windows Explorer (again) to open a second finder window

13. Double Click "My Flash Disk" that looks like a grey little icon

14. you will see a bunch of folders and icons it should look similar to when you opened F700 folder from SD card Click uptop Edit Paste

15. If you are given an error message about not enough room ignore or x it out ( i forget the exact step)

16. If asked if you want to replace file, select YES ALL

17. You will see that its gonna take upto 2 hrs but in reality it takes about 15 minutes to replace all files.

18. Once its finished turn off our car

19. eject SD card

20. Turn on Car hopefully at this point it loads perfectly like its a new avic... this may take a few momments and in initial menu it will say please wait system start up in process.

21. If its stuck in loop mode put SD card back in and re enter test mode go back to "My Flash Disk" delete all the files that say "gpspara(number).bin

If this doesnt work you need further help which is doable in most cases but its more indepth. This at least will give you a basic understanding of how to navigate inside WinCe

Glad to see/hear that this thread is helping lots of people, I hope it continues to do so. Also several people have asked for my paypal account for helping them out my email for paypal or further help if you are really stuck and for some reason i dont respond here quick enough (with in 3 days... please give me 3 days to respond) is tail24@aol.com make subject Avic Help. Thanks to all that have donated and do in the future, but dont worry I will help without any donation what so ever some just feel like giving because they are saved lots of money.

Please where can i find the files i need to use for this problem on my F900BT system. The link in this top doesn't work. I am from Holland so i need the european files i think :-)

Hey Tail ,

I DL'ed the torrent and tried to paste the 700bt files to replace the ones on "my flash drive"

I seem to run into a few different errors. Three times I got a random file failing to copy

once was a canada-something file

Two other times random files failed i did not take the file name

Two other times I ran into not enough disk space.

The 900bt I have has the firmware updated to 2.8

Just looping now.

Wanted to see if you had any input before going to the MBR fix.

I think a donation by all who were/ will be helped would be a nice gesture even if just a few bucks as a show of appreciation

Also, I assume you are one of the 3 seeds for that  AVIC fix torrent.

So THANK YOU  for really going the distance for everyone here!

Edit: So with the "lack of space" i deleted all the files and tried to copy the backup files in. Caught an error with North_America.xxx file.

Think  I semi bricked it : only boot screen to black screen.

Maybe time to MBR

So it looks as though I have fallen into the reboot loop issue. The unit had been operating quite nicely until recently when it started having a few gremlins, now I can listen to music for about 2 minutes before the system reboots and it is getting tiresome to say the least. Before I shell out cash for a new system (don't really want to and I actually sort of dig the unit) I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of the files and instructions I will need to fix this. I have read through all of the posts here and can't seem to find the location of the download as the links don't seem to be playing nicely. While I am somewhat computer literate, consider me a beginner in the realm of this sort of thing, so detailed instructions are always a help for me. I am located in North America (PA to be exact). Help a brutha out!

Tail 24, if you can help me resolve this issue, I will certainly be down for a small donation for all of your efforts! Just tell me how to donate as well.
