Best video codec presets for F series

Recommended Posts

Hi folks, I would like to start this topic so that we can help each other to get our F series units playing videos off of SD/USB card.

I have some Divx (xvid) in .avi format I've downloaded from the web and some of them works. However, they're not optimized to the Pioneer AVIC F series resolution, etc and I would like to find out the 'best video codec setup' in order to convert my videos.

I'm planning to use Handbrake once it's available for all main platforms (Mac, Win and Linux) and it's a very flexible tool for encoding/decoding videos.

I've read the specs in the operation manual and tried to match them using Handbrake for encoding some sample videos.

Here is one of the videos which works:

I'm trying various settings and couldn't get anyone yet to work.

Lets join forces here and find out a "perfect video codec setup" and then I can share a Handbrake preset with everybody here.

Looking forward your feedback!

Gabriel.
