I still have (but not for long) an old AVIC N3. When I first saw the option to find POI's by searching via a telephone number, I thought it was the dumbest thing. How would I know the number to a place I'm searching for? Then as the smartphones came around, I found myself searching for POI's via Google on the smartphone as it was 1) more up to date than the DVD's and 2) provided a visual on a map to where the POI's were located. I would then select the one I wanted and I'd plug in the phone number into the N3 (provided the DVD was new enough with the same data) to get the exact POI I wanted quicker and have it navigate to it. It appears that the Z130/Z140 no longer has search by telephone number. Is there a faster way to call up these POI's than having to go through all the category menus, etc.? What a PITA! I still haven't decided what to do about another head unit but wanted to see if anyone had other shortcuts they could recommend.
