ma_ttcald
No plans for an upgrade chip yet according to pioneer.
autumnwalker
the "upgrade" will be done via software. X920BT and X940BT are similar in terms of hardware. When the update is released for the X940BT you will be able to install it on your X920BT and have similar features.
justin13703
If you follow the instructions in the "x920 firmware and map upgrade" or something like that thread, you will have the software from the 940 I believe. I did it to my 920 a few weeks ago and it's identical to a 940 now. And the maps were updated. And the bluetooth was updated. And it was free. Lol
ma_ttcald
^^^^. Read post below
ma_ttcald
^^^. All you did was installed a hacked version of this, I think. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Shop/Specials/CNSD-210FM. I believe that just turned the 920 into a 930. If yours want a 940, try doing this upgrade. http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqNorthAmerica-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewStandardCatalog-Browse?ShowAllProducts=YES&CatalogCategoryID=ED4KCghBPbUAAAE5g_sHXzWY
killa82783
Above link for 940 points directly to website to order 2012 NAVTEQ setup from Pioneer for $120.00 is there any alternatives for this upgrade. I'm finding no threads dl links or anything which is unusual for avic map updates
samaim2187
I'm wondering the same thing. I went on Pioneers website and ordered a free update MicroSD card for my 930Bt but it turned out to be the Firmware update only, not a major map and 940 Feature Upgrade. gte460z
Pionara, can you make an x930bt upgrade thread for this?
pionara
gte460z - that is for x930bt to x940bt upgrade. Should also work with x920, z110,z120,z130

Ugh.. time and energy being more important than money to me at the moment (lol), can I just buy the update from Pioneer to turn my x920 into an x940, and would that include the maps, bluetooth updates, etc? kelkin
Yep! You have to manually update the BT by going to the BT settings screen.
