If someone can trick the lightening port to thinking that it has a digital adaptor hooked into it, it may pass the video out the usb end.

The unit is not built to accept video over USB so that wont work. The unit already accepts video form the HDMI so why try and re-invent the wheel here.

The Apple digital adapter pig tail has a few chips in there that do conversion/decoding whatever. Apple released the lighting to 30-pin adapter but for some reason they left out the video part of it.

They should have included a video chip on there to output the video as well.

Which makes you wonder if you could dissect the digital adaptor and graft it onto the 30 pin adaptor? Hummm

pioneer needs to crack the whip on their software development team, bought the CD-IV202NAVI kit with the lightning VGA adapter and right now I have a 140 dollar paper weight cause it's worthless without a firmware update for the avic z140,I prob should have just spent the money instead on an appradio 2 instead of getting the z140 in the first place.

OK so i can be sure before i order

I have a 110bt that I just upgraded using the NAVTEQ 2012 map update - I must say that I love the updated look - however i need to be able to use appradio mode for things like Escort Live / and my Maps iphone apps / also pandora would be nice.

will the  CD-IV202NAVI cable allow this?

Thanks in advance for your input

THANKS - I'll post the results of how things work for me -

One other question - I should be able to plug in a new iPod touch (nano/shuffle with a lightening connector ) and have all the "iPod functions" that i have now - Right?

How did this end up working for you? I'm using an updated Z120 and am missing my appradio since upgrading to the iPhone 5, so I'm hoping that this works.

I thought the whole point was that the iPhone5 does not output video over the standard USB cable and needs the digital adapter to send video? Is this not the case?

So, would plugging this cord http://dx.com/p/8-pin-lightning-male-to-female-extension-cable-for-iphone-5-ipad-4th-mini-ipad-white-105cm-199663 into Apple's Lightning Digital AV Adapter prevent (i.e. kill) video out?  I'm guessing that an extension cable like this probably doesn't have the video-out chip/decoding.

The CD-IH202 cable is too short and having it and the AV Adapter in view is too messy for me.  Would like to have 1 single cable coming out from dash and keep the CD-IH202 and AV Adapter behind the dash.

I have tested cables like this and they do work.
