bigdaddyjosh
Iphone will do bluetooth streaming but with no tag info and no control from the radio. Also when connected through USB it gives an error code. I have not tried with 30 pin connector because I did not buy the adaptor.
mattaleao
Concur with these findings. I suspect (hope) that it's just a matter of a pandora app update to update the pioneer portion.
harley3
The problem is with iOS 6 regardless of which iPhone you have. I have the same issue on my iPhone 4 with iOS6. As someone posted on another thread about this, Pioneer is aware of the problem and working on a fix. Hopefully it will be available soon since I get my iPhone 5 on Friday. bigdaddyjosh
I just got this off apples support forum. Its not lloking good for the new lightning connector. Here's an update for all Pioneer people. It's the basic not our fault, but their fault. ViceVersa for Apple. Just got off the phone with Pioneer, and they said that were pretty much out of luck. They're working on stuff, but the new Lightning Connector transmits audio Digitally now, instead of analog signals. The decks can't read it. So if you have or spent a bunch of money on a new deck from Pioneer, you're out of luck as far as using the iPhone 5. If you updated to iOS6, they said they are working on an update to have it work with the decks. As far as bluetooth streaming, same deal. Pioneer claims Apple changed their bluetooth, so it's not compatible. Apple says it's Pioneer who has to update their decks. This would ultimately fix the Artist/Title info showing up on the deck, as well as gain controls again. Basically, if you got an iPhone 5, and spent a ton of money on a new Pioneer deck like me (AVH-P8400bh) you're screwed. I hope i'm wrong though...
mattaleao
Bluetooth works fine though. The only thing it doesnt do is show album art or let you thumbs up & down - but album/artist/title works as well as skipping.
bigdaddyjosh
mine doesnt do any of that. I dont get any controls nor do I get album arttist/title/album info. All mine does will play audio. All controls must be done from the iphone. I hope this doesnt mean i have faulty bluetooth in my iphone 5.
dancemf666
I have the Avic f900bt and the controls are working to the iphone. I plugged the new usb cable into the usb and ran 3.5 headphone jack from the phone to the audio ins. Sucks to have two plugs now but better than nothing.
dbarnes012
So let me explain my situation a little. I always jailbreak. before i got a program called music controls pro on cydia my functionality between my 4s and my avhp 5200bt was very limited. after installing the program i had full functionality on all music apps ( skips on pandora album art on pandora control of tunein radio etc ). When i got my iphone 5 and restored from a recent backup i still had all that functionality. i replaced my 5 and restored as a new until i could get home and nothing worked. no sound... nothing. got home and restored again from the recent back up and everything worked again. what im trying to say is its not the cord, its the os. something must have been left from the jailbreak program that saved in my backup. because everything works on my iphone 5 now. my suggestion is a bit tedious, but it may help. Jailbreak your iphone 4s add music controls in cydia back up your phone then restore your iphone 5 to that most recent backup. i think everything may work on the 5 then. hope this helps. Nola26
My iPhone 5 will stream audio but I get no controls or song info via bluetooth. However if I plug in the cable, the iPod works great. I can change song, track, playlist and song/ album info is on screen as well as album art. I just wish the video out feature would get fixed so I can use a navigation app with my P4400. The promising promising news from Pioneer is that some new cables were announced that should make the iPhone 5 and iOS6 fully compatible with the Pioneer decks. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/iPod-and-iPhone-Cables/CD-IV202NAVI http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/iPod-and-iPhone-Cables/CD-IH202 http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/iPod-and-iPhone-Cables/CD-IV202AV Hopefully this solves all the iPhone 5 issues we are having. Hopefully my unit F9310BT will be supported eventually. I am missing this standard iPhone cable (picture below), can anyone let me know if this will still be needed for the iPhone 5, or will the new cables listed above REPLACE this cable. Reason being as I don't want to pay $50 for this cable now if it's going to be redundant in 6 weeks....
