bigcod
Just wondering, does anyone with Linux distro build knowledge know if its possible to build a rom that would Linux on the Appradio device rather than WinCE ?, I am assuming Linux / Andriod is avaible for MIPS ? Im not sure how you would get it onto the device ? Just a thought
lciummo
There are no distros for Appradio that I know of. You'd have to download the kernel source, configure it for MIPS (or whatever CPU is in the appradio), and use the updater or JTAG tool to flash it. The touch screen and many other components that are unique to the appradio would need custom drivers. Then you'd have to figure out how the tuner and preamp outputs are controlled, which might be very difficult without schematics. Ir would probably be easier to build a custom CarPC from scratch that hack the appradio to run Linux with all the custom stuff on the headunit.
Hell520
On the appradio 2 there is an hdmi input which I suppose you could connect a raspberry pi and have Linux running on that but again you would need drivers so everything worked ok.
