Baddmann78
Does anyone know if this is a good way of bypassing the Nav / DVD on the 940? Im just getting ready to install this in a 04 F-150 and want to make sure its a good way to go about it...... Please let me know. Here is the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/150862459954?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2648 it has me installing a new wire above the mute wire and and slicing it to the parking brake wire then grounding both of them. Is this good or just a waste of $10?
pionara
if you have ever done any kind of wiring job before then you dont need any kits. If you can wire up your harness, then you can do the bypass yourself. Just read some of the bypass topics here
Baddmann78
I wish I would have known about this site before I bought the kit from ebay. At this point Im more curious if this is a good way to do the bypass or if it is a bad idea to do it the way the kit says to. Any thoughts on it would be helpful. pionara
it's the same method as discussed on here. Many folks move the mute wire. Do you have/need mute to be triggered from a switch or something? Few people do. If you need the "remote mute" functionality, then you would probably want to buy the kit. Alternatively, if you have an older dead pc powersupply laying around, the wires in the old school 3.5" floppy power cables fit perfectly into the av harness (after unlocking the tab, of course)
Baddmann78
Thank you for the advice. I thought that it was pretty much the same as the bypasses discused here. Like I said, I really wish I would have known about this site before I bought the "kit". Thank you again.....
