AVIC-Z3 vehicle dynamic display and GPS not working

Recommended Posts

Hi, this is my first post here.

I searched exisitng threads but didn't find any answers to my problem.

I bought my Z3 in 2008 brand new and got it installed by an authorized dealer. Everything works great until now. Couple days ago the map showed a wrong location and the car's position on the map didn't update as the car moved.

So I thought I should do a reset and see if it helps or not. After the reset, the map even shows I am at Los Angeles while I am actually in Canada. The arrow on the map doesn't move at all even the car is moving. Then I go back to the hardware menu, then connection status, GPS antenna is OK, but no bars light up and rear signal is low. The speed pulse is working fine while the car is moving. So I go back to Menu, and then go to 3D Calibration status. I reset all stuffs there and I spend sometime driving my car and hope it learns at the end. The learning status displays "sensor initializing". When I make some turns while I am driving, the "left", "right" bars on the 3D calibration status menu do not light up. It seems it is not working. I also tried vehicle dynamic display. There're 3 meters in it. Clock is working, Voltage meter also works, but the rest of them show " this function is not available now".

So after doing all these, my GPS and dynamic display meters are not working properly. I have never unpluged or removed the unit out of my car since new. Anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks a lot.
