fearthisinc
Ok.. So I recently sent my Avic-D2 in for service to have the screen repaired.. Actually its my girls.. She is getting rid of the car soon so I opted to have the screen fixed locally instead of upgrading.. Anyway.. They sent the unit back and the screen is like new.. Installed it and everything was great.. Until I switched to navigation mode.. When I hit the map button it came up with the "Please insert appropriate disc" message.. I have tried ejecting the disc and putting it back, cleaning, etc.. I tried resetting but nothing.. I am thinking the repair guy inserted an updated map disc but he claims that he did not. Just wondering how I would be able to determine what the problem is.. I see the new map discs going for like 20 on ebay which I believe are just copies of the true Pioneer map discs but regardless I want to get this thing working.. I have the original/factory map disc that came with the unit when it was purchased back in 2006/2007.. I probably should just get the upgraded discs but wanted to see fi there was a way to confirm if the new discs will be the solution or if I have a different problem.. Thanks
JasonH
I don't remember the procedure but I'm sure it's around here somewhere. There's a way to "erase" the flash memory in the service menu and then reload from the disc.
