Z140BH Reboot Loop - Cant enter Test Mode

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, a few days ago I had an issue with my stock Z140BH (about 1 year old now). The unit froze whilst just playing Pandora. I parked for the night and shut down my car. When I started it up the next day I began getting an error (flagged as error 7) saying "There is no applicable program" and it would never get past the initial boot screen before throwing an error.

Fast forward to today I began trying to fix it. Unknowingly I used Condi's hack mode w/o a backup because I thought HackMode == TestMode (two huge mistakes that I realize now). Low-and-behold when I inserted Condi's HackMode it did it's automatic thing. No success, still throwing the same Error 7. After a bit more research I realized I should have used the TestMode. I found and try to follow the steps here (http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35230-2012-uscan-maps-cnsd-310fmuc-upgrade-updated-to-supereasymethod-beta/). When I ran the AutoReplacer it threw an error when attempting to copy the .dll. From there I tried to just manually move the files using Super TestMode. I spent another hour or so trying to select -> copy -> paste the .dll in the /USERS/ dir, but it would never work. I also noticed I had no files under the /USERS/, just the .. parent directory option.

I found out I could enter "Drive Information" on the initial Test Mode screen. Looking at the information for /USERS/ I noticed I had 0/0 used bytes which made me think the Z140 wasnt even recognizing the hard disk. I scrolled over a few options and found the Format button and ran it... No success, 0/0 bytes. I then noticed the options to mount and unmount, I ran the mount command and now I have 0/~190 MB used space. Now that my drive was correctly mounted I tried to run the AutoReplacer, still no success (I think due to the fact that I now had no sub directories under /USERS/) and I kept getting the errors. I then tried to manually copy over the /USER/ with VOLUME.DAT, /SYSTEM/ and I changed /PRG/ to /PGR0/ and made a copy for /PGR1/. I ran a reboot on my Avic, and I was no longer getting the Error 7 There is no applicable program. Instead I am getting the Status/Error codes 8 + 10 ("Program Update Started" and "Program Update Failed" respectively). Except now I cant boot into TestMode anymore. I am at a loss, I no longer have access to any file systems. Is there any fix to this? And please give me the directions in simple terms without skipping any "common sense" steps. I am new to the Pioneer File system and am paying for it dearly.

Thanks!

Here is a video of the only screens I can access on the unit as of now.
