HELP! X930BT randomly restarts after X940 software update

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I recently updated my AVIC X930BT to the 940 software using the instructions on this site. Now about a week or two after the update, my unit is now randomly restarting. At first I thought it was because of the nag screen removal hack but I reverted back to the original navi.exe file and it still restarts. I have now found that it restarts when an iDevice (iPhone, iPod, iPad) is plugged in. I've tried this with my iPhone 5 (i use the 30 pin to thunderbolt adapter) and iPad 3 (30 pin connector) both cause the 930 to restart as soon as they are plugged in. This has never happened before the update. It will even restart if using bluetooth audio (which sounds horrible, even with the firmware update) but takes a few seconds to make the unit restart. This sucks because the radio stations where I live suck (I use Pandora on my phone for music). Has this happened to anyone else? Is this a known issue? If anyone knows of a solution, please help. I dont want to think its hardware because it just started happening after the update to 940 software and it only seems to happen when an Apple device is plugged in or using bluetooth audio. Thank in advance for the help!

OK guys, after reinstalling the 940 update, twice! Checking all the cables coming from the head unit, I think I figured out what the problem was. My phone and iPad are both jailbroken, and they like to crash themselves from time to time. So when i pluggled my phone in after doing all this and it still caused my 930 to restart, I unplugged my phone, restarted my phone and the restart loop stopped! Its gone a whole night now without restarting. I'm going on a 2 hour trip today so it'll be another test to see if this bug comes back and if restarting my phone fixes the issue if it does. I'll post back if it happens again. Hopefully this info can help someone else if it happens to them.
