mikey218
Just curious of what back up cameras work the best with these units. Seems that there's a whole bunch out there that are reasonably priced, some cheap and some expensive.
supermixer
Hello I own an avic z110 and I have used the Pioneer ND-BC4 camera .. the camera is awesome and has worked great for the time I've used it. you can probably still get this however this model has been discontinued. The ND BC6 camera is the replacement model
IdentityWithheld
I, too, have the Z110, and I went with the VTL200 back in 2011. The camera is built into the license plate frame. I figured it would be the stealthiest. I have 2 12" subs in the trunk, so I know it takes a beating. Still going strong. UPDATE #1 The camera now has condensation behind the lens. I am unable to remove the lens to clean out the water droplets because the screws near the lens are now stripped. It seems the chrome-like metal is stripping away. I may have to replace the camera. Damn!!!!!! UPDATE #2 I replaced my Boyo VTL200 with a Pyle PLCM21 license plate camera. The Pyle camera has parking guidelines in the image, as well as 8 LEDs built into the frame. I agree that a CCD camera is better than a CMOS camera. Also, I would suggest a license plate camera (not an add-on camera) for two reasons; the camera is centered behind the vehicle, and the hole that is drilled into the trunk an exist behind the frame which would not be visible if you replaced the camera frame with a regular frame. F-Dog
You'll want something with a 'ccd' sensor as opposed to the cmos sensors on cheaper cameras, and probably with infrared LED's around it for decent nightvision capability.
Lyverbe
Keep it simple. I bought a $15 camera on eBay for my X930BT and it's doing the job really well.
Retrax
I also got one on eBay for 22 bucks. It works great. I couldn't see spending over $100 or more on one.
fdisker2000
I had a cheap $20 eBay camera(XO Vision) hooked up to my Z1 for 3 years before replacing it. It worked fine except when it was sunny out, the brightness would wash out the image. It was actually better at night with the IR LEDS. When I replaced my Z1 with a Z110, I upgraded to a Boyo VTL300 and it is great in all lighting conditions.
