AVH-P3200BT - missing setup menu options

Hey all, I've browsed the forum but did not come across any answers on this older unit.

1) I was trying to run the Auto-Eq function as outlined on page 64 of the manual but the option on my deck is "grayed out" - not selectable.  I've read the manual several times and cannot account for this issue.  Is there some "enable" feature I am missing?

2) My calls are also very low for people to hear and I went to adjust the distant end audio feature BUT the same thing shows up - I cannot select that menu option.  Also the menu option to take the call private is also grayed out.

 

i tried a power off RESET to no avail and then a power on RESET and again, these items are still not available.  Any other ideas?  Is there a firmware update available on these units?  I've searched for this too but nothing found.

Pull the parking brake as detailed in the manual.

I did not read that in the manual.  It has a parking brake defeat relay which should negate the need.

Nope - not a "parking brake" enable issue.  DVD plays fine with bypass relay, still no menu options for AutoEQ.

This is a common issue and has been reported as bypass related. Ground the parking brake wire and try again.
