That's disappointing.

It would be nice if it automatically opened it, it does skip the "allow" message and if I have had it open (and haven't killed background apps) it seems to work.  I've gotten into the habit of just opening the app as I walk out to my car so it doesn't take additional time.  I may just create an activator action to open the app when I plug it in.  It's a very small annoyance compared to how much better everything works once hooked up (versus without appradio ext)

I just got my bypass installed and some kinks worked out.  Everything seems to work really well with App Extensions and Appradio 3.  I haven't seen many videos mirroring the iPhone 5 with the 3 so I thought I'd post it.

Hi I really like the setup, i'm a potential buyer for the appradio 3. from seeing your post and hopefully I understand the way it mirrors is because your iphone is jailbroken? I won't install the radio when I purchase it, I'm leaving it to the guys from best buy, but what is the bypass for? Do I need to get that install separately?

My vehicle is manual, is that an issue with the bypass?

Thank you for post

Refer to the answer I provided on your last post about the bypass. And Best Buy will not install it for you as it is a bypass of a safety feature that would bring them into liability if you smash into someone while viewing video and driving down the road. Most independent stereo shops however will do it for you on the down low.

Yes, thank you for your response. The way you interact on your radio between apps, from one to the next is what you mean app motion, so therefore the bypass is a must?

One of my man reasons I'm thinking of getting the app radio besides the other features is able to mirror my iPhone or iPad and play spotify app and use the touchscreen on the radio for controls, possible?

Thanks again

I dont use Spotify but as I understand you can use it but there will be no control form the unit and the app may not rotate to landscape.

Any pros and cons for this radio I have a old d3 looking to upgrade. I also have a jail broken iPhone 5..can you do Netflix on it and power a second tv

You'll want to by an HDMI splitter so you can output to the AppRadio and your Second tv at the same time.

eBay search for: HDMI 1x2 splitter  (20-30 bucks)

The models from acepurchase have a wide following online forums and are know to even strip HDCP. (not that it's an issue on mobile devices)

http://stores.ebay.com/acepurchase/

I use his 1x4 model at home for my HTPC.   (1 output to my main tv, 1 output to my computer monitor, 1 output to my slingbox)

You'll want the lightening extension cable of course so you can hide the HDMI adapter next to the switch.

(see comments at the bottom)

Update on the cable:

My AppRadio 3 is on order :-)  I also have a Jailbroken iPhone 5

So the unit doesn't auto launch the app radio app when you touch the app icon on the unit?

I was messing around with the jailbreak app called "Flex"

I just discovered it after seeing the post about the Youtube 2.0 update.  Someone commented at the bottom they updated their youtube flex patch to remove ads etc.

So I discovered Flex has 100's of patches you can apply to your regular iOS App Store apps.

I took a look at AppRadio, and saw there is one called "Enable Backgrounding Test"

Maybe it would help out making AppRadio always ready to go?  (assuming it doesn't kill battery life)

Anyone know anything about it or tried it?  Sounds possibly interesting.  I don't even have my AppRadio yet so not even sure how often you need to  re-launch the app manually.

Thanks for all the info you have provided, researching on the bypass,

Found this on amazon:

Would this work? Reading the reviews feels like it, I'm thinking of doing the whole installation myself, now where can I get the holder or harness for the radio?

Thank you
