Running DashCommand on a x920bt

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the Avic world.

I have a x920bt and I'm looking at upgrading the software to 4.0 as soon as I get a microsd card (Haven't used those in a while)

I was wondering though if anyone has ran the DashCommand app through the appradio once you've upgraded?

Also, when you upgrade does your album art then display when running things though bluetooth instead of needing to have an ipod running direct?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the somewhat basic newb questions.

-Nate

I so wanted to use Dash Command before I scored my 940BT. I've come to learn that it won't work as nicely with the older Avics as it will with the AppRadio line-up. Dash Commands will display the data on your Phone or Tablet, but your Avic's display will need a direct connection with device running it. As for Album Art via BT that also negative. The interesting thing about the album art displaying is that it works fine with Pandora or Aha radio.

Thats a bummer!! Although I would much rather know now then after I invest in the OBDII wifi adapter.

I upgraded to the 4.0 software yesterday. I did both the upgrade to that and the bluetooth upgrade.

After doing them I've found now I'm rarely able to use either pandora or Aha Radio, it was pretty strange.

Oh well.

Thanks for the heads up!

  • 6 months later...

I have a 9310BT that I will be upgrading to the 5.0 software in the morning. I have dash command on my iphone 4S and a 30pin cable with USB and RCA connections on the other end. I plan on trying to output the display from the phone to maybe the AV1 or AV2 inputs on the deck and have the phone permanently mounted in the car solely for gauge display purposes. I have a 5S for work and a 5S for personal use so the 4S being in the car permanently for this purpose was a no brainer for me.

I'll let you know tomorrow if I'm successful in getting this to work or not
