northernneil
Ok, since I made the mistake of buying Appradio 1 a few years back, I've been kinda put off Pioneer despite them being my fav make! Long and short is I've now bought a f930bt and I read it's possible to update to f940bt and get much more functionality from the unit. I've read a few topics and it's got a bit too techy at times with stuff. Whilst not an idiot, I'd rather not brick it! Is there a noob guide (European) and also one for updating the maps to include speed cameras? Many thanks.
northernneil
Anyone?
abre
The software update from v3 to v4 in effect turns a 930 in to a 940. I believe a v3 to v5 is also possible with the same outcome. The same applies for the F30BT
northernneil
Ok, but how is this done? I'm looking for links and getting myself confused.
abre
The update is part of the map upgrade which included the v4 features. http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site/-/-/-/View-Promo?&Page=New_Pioneer_Landing&NewDomainName=Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site&ProgramUUID=mfMKCghBfCwAAAEwB.cx.gjp&utm_campaign=Navteq-Partnership&utm_medium=oemreferral&utm_source=Pioneer_EU There is a thread on here for upgrading to the 2013 maps and that includes the v5 upgrade http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/37407-2013-eu-update-f30-f930-f9310-f40-f940-f840-f8430/ It may be possible to upgrade from v3 to v5 but I'm afraid I don't know because I did 3 to 4 then 4 to 5. The last upgrade being done using the above forum link. You may also be better posting a query on that thread as it's quite active. You could also check on the pioneer site http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/support/software/AVIC-F930BT/page.html I know a lot of links on avic411 are broken but with a degree of persistence I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for Regards Andrew
northernneil
I'm already on version 04.0000 so hopefully I'll be able to go straight to 5.0. Many thanks Andrew. Ps, this place is quiet eh?!
abre
It certainly is quiet! If you are at v4 then you just need the files posted by Pug in post 1 of the avic411 link in my previous response, you'll also need the crack file from Pionara linked in the same post. BTW running on v4 or v5 there is no difference between a F930/F30 and a F949/F40 bar the front panel name badge... If you have no luck with the files let me know and I'll see if I still have a copy somewhere... I tend to delete once installed successfully. Andrew
