rwilimo
So I started working on my new 7000 tonight and ran into a strange problem. I'm using an iPhone 5 with oem apple lightning cable plugged into USB 1 on the radio. No hdmi or adaptor, Settings are for iPhone/pod and USB (I really don't care for the app mode). If I launch iPod it works perfectly, If I switch to Pandora that works fine also, however now if I switch back to iPod, it shows iPod on the top of the screen but it plays Pandora even though it Shows its on the iPod source. The only way I can find to get it back for proper iPod function is to either force quit Pandora on the phone or go into music on the phone and select something. Even a power cycle of the radio or ignition does not clear this up. If someone has the same setup I would like to see if yours does the same thing...
drenyce311
I think you need to enable Bluetooth for pandora.
drenyce311
I'm looking at the manual. It's on page 72. Chapter 13. It says "Bluetooth connection is required for using AHA or PANDORA"
rwilimo
I'm not sure I understand your response. I do have my bluetooth setup but I am using a usb connection and Pandora does work, the problem is that after using it, the iPod function then becomes screwed up... guu
While it's playing pandora in iPod mode can you pick an iPod song from the head unit?
rwilimo
While it's playing pandora in iPod mode can you pick an iPod song from the head unit? Well thats where the problem is, after switching from Pandora to iPod, the top of the screen shows the normal iPod Header, however all the rest shows the pandora screen and that is what it plays, other functions such as HD radio work normally. If go into "music" on the actual phone and make a selection the radio will start to work properly again until pandora is used.
drenyce311
Probably a glitch. Are you using app radio mode for pandora?? Or as a iPod source?? Once my radio comes in. I'll make sure ill test all the functions.
rwilimo
Radio is set in iPod mode. Another thing that I found strange is that if the usb cable in plugged in you are not allowed to stream using bluetooth which means using another cable to charge, can this be right??? drenyce311
Maybe it's pioneers way for us to buy their wires
rwilimo
Maybe it's pioneers way for us to buy their wires Using iPod mode, you can only use a lightning cable, if you connect the hdmi, lightning & apple dv adaptor iPod mode no longer works, the whole thing just makes no sense to me unless I'm missing something... rso81
It actually does make sense... The digital av adapter routes audio and video through the HDMI cable, and not through USB (lightning, in this application). Because nothing passes through lightning (other than power to keep the phone charged), and iPod mode was designed to receive audio signals from USB, it's to be expected that it wouldn't work. My install appointment for my 8000nex is on Wednesday...still trying to figure out how I want everything wired....
rwilimo
O.K. I have talked with Pioneer today. They have informed me that after playing Pandora and switching back to iPod mode, you must reselect the music that you want to listen to and if you do not then Pandora will continue to play. Going through the menus to find the music you want does work but what a PITA, it seems unbelievable to me that they cannot remember what you were listening to and go back to the same place. What I did find is that an iPod plugged into usb 2 will remember your selection so I will probably go this route. Other things I have discovered. If you select Bluetooth or digital adaptor under smart phone setup, you cannot plug any apple device into usb 2 and have it work, you must select usb. You cannot plug an iPhone into a usb jack to charge if you are setup to stream bluetooth. I guess that an iPhone coupled with an iPod classic will pretty much get me what I want but I must say that I am disappointed with some of these findings so far... This is typical of Pioneer UI logic.
