drenyce311
I had no luck on a nex 4000. I tried it upon initial setup(forces you to pick a language first) unlike in the above video. I also tried it numerous times at startup, not at startup, no luck. I would safely say its a no go on the 4000nex...hopefully the micro bypass will do the trick? I think the 4000nex can use a bypass since it doesn't have a nav.
apradio3847
I had the 4000nex before upgrading to the avic-8000nex. I used the the Pac-tr7 to do the bypass but you can also used the micro bypass or toggle switch on the parking brake wire. Before i switch units i tried the avic bypass (installereric) and nothing happened. I will post a video of the 4000 and 8000 soon.
kevinb99
Has anyone tried this on a 5000NEX yet? I see every other model but that one.
Kstryker
I did the bypass but get this ever time I start the car at random times. If I acknowledge it goes away but comes up next time I start the car.
tekki
Mine is the same and don't bother me much to click ok,
Kstryker
So the bypass doesn't work for me...when playing a movie it will prompt anytime over 5mph saying it cant play while in motion. I had a shop do the install so not sure they grounded the parking brake line permanently.
VBLUE42
Once again guys. Guys its important that you report which unit you have when you report whether it works or not..
bsmack
Worked on my 6000NEX, took several attempts to find the right spot.
sofakng
Worked perfectly on my 8000NEX. (I have the parking wire permanently grounded as described)
tsnprice
Video of bypass steps. Worked on my 7000. Here is a quick video of the steps (might show "set off" instead of "set on" since I had already accomplished - but just did it again). www.snprice.com/avic/video/pbrake.html (sorry - I don't upload video to utube)
wintershrinkage
Worked on my 8000 as well! I also have my parking brake wire permanently grounded.
VBLUE42
So is there anyone with an AVH unit that this works for? It appears not.

I had a shop do the install so not sure they grounded the parking brake line permanently. This actually does work for me. I had an issue where I had no audio and apparently the guys at the stereo shop disabled. They actually tried to upsell me the bypass for $50 stating they can include the hardware for the bypass. I said thanks but no thanks. This is for a 7000nex just in case someone tries to jump all over me for not stating my model even though my device is in my signature.
