Is there a mod to allow narrowing a playlist song search by the first letter?

I tried doing multiple searches in this forum, and also the general xseries forum but have not found anything that seems to apply to my specific question, so please pardon me if this has been asked and answered before...

 

I have an x910BT, and it has been running great for me since it was brand new. The one thing that was always very annoying for me is that if I choose a playlist and want to find a specific song as the first song, the only way to get to it is by browsing with the page up or down buttons on the left of the screen. I would love it if I could at least have the option of putting in the first letter to narrow it down to what I am looking for, like when you are browsing artists or song titles outside of playlists.

 

So, what I am trying to find is whether or not there might be a mod to provide this functionality, or if I could just be so unobservant that I have been missing a way to turn this feature on all of this time. Thank you for any help!
