bpossel
Hello All, I recently installed a Z150BH and would like to update the drivers, firmware, etc. I also did the handbrake mod. Do I need to remove the handbrake mod before I do the firmware and other software updates? Thanks, Bob
bobpenn
No, I don't believe you need to do that. I didn't and it worked fine.
JohnK
+1 I had the hardware handbrake mod and software nag screen hack, and upgraded with no problems. I had to reimplement the nag screen hack again though.
bpossel
Thanks Guys! I just wanted to make sure... I assume it's no different than simply leaving the parking brake engaged since the mod simply grounds the brake wire on the radio making it "think" that it's engaged. Thanks again, Bob
JohnK
I should clarify ... hardware hacks should remain unaffected, but software hacks will be wiped out since you are installing a new executable. You will have to re-implement the software hacks in the new executable -- and address offsets will be different. But correct, you should not have to "undo" a software mod that you made. The update simply replaces all of the files without much regard to what was there before.
