htjunkie
Trying to hookup the calibration microphone to 8000NEX to do an auto EQ, but all options are greyed out. I tried plugging in the mic to the mic input when flipping down the HU front panel, it doesn't get anywhere once I plug the mic in. I also try going through audio settings, but I'm not able to initiate the EQ process as all options are greyed out! I have grounded the parking brake wire not sure if this has any effects? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
jhren
Are you following steps as outlined in the operation manual starting on Page 171...? If yes, at what step does the problem start? If no, guess what...
htjunkie
Reading it again, it says to press "Auto EQ & TA" repeatedly even though the option is greyed out? That I didn't try, I won't be able to give it a try till tomorrow.
tickerguy
The unit has to be OFF before starting or it won't allow you to select the autoeq mode. Start at the front of the instructions for it.
htjunkie
Ah, I didn't see the instruction on page 171 to turn off the unit. That must be it, thank you for the pointer.

Perhaps you both need instructions on how to read instructions. There is no step that tells you to turn the UNIT off. Do not start with the instruction subsection titled "Using the auto-adjusted equalizer". Start at "Adjusting the equalizer curve automatically (Auto EQ)".
